Fen Ditton High Street

The High Street is one of the oldest parts of the village, and has architecture dating back to before the 16th Century.

The Ancient Shepherds pub (see links page ) is one of our favourite local pub/restaurants, serving a range of classic dishes for both lunchtimes and evening meals. A lighter bar menu is also available at lunchtimes. We've always found the food well-cooked and well-presented, and the traditional pub atmosphere warm and friendly. Prices are roughly £4-£5 for starter, £8-£12 for main course. Reservations usually advisable for the restaurant in the evenings.

Regretfully, the Post Office and shop on the high street ceased trading in June 2005, after no-one could be found to take it on after the owners moved. It is now a private house, although the separate shop unit is still available to let

The Lynne Strover Gallery provides a touch of sophistication.

Further on comes the War Memorial, and the King's Head pub (see the links page )
